The Brief

Purpose built student accommodation comprising of 214 beds and arranged within four new buildings and the refurbished former penitentiary, on a steeply sloping site in the centre of Durham.

A mixture of cluster flats , studios  and communal facilities are provided within a landscaped setting. The three and four storey buildings which step down the slope of the site are designed to respect the residential area and appear domestic in scale.

The buildings will be built to achieve  BREEAM very good standard.
