The Brief

A mixed retail and residential project in Gateshead on the site of the former Half Moon Inn.  This project forms part of Gateshead Council’s aspirational Creative Quarter connecting the retail heart of Gateshead with Gateshead Quays.  Within the building are a ground floor commercial unit and six flats above.

Designed to contrast with its neighbours, the design comprises a simple palette of materials to express the planar modernist composition on this tight town centre site.
