The Brief

The brief called for a stand-alone building adjacent to Newcastle central motorway to provide 6000ft2 of office accommodation over three floors.

Covered secure car parking is provided on the ground floor along with the entrance, lift, stairs, shared kitchen and WC facilities.

The single staircase building was designed to be let as single unit or on a floor by floor basis to adapt to market conditions.

The steel framed building with metal stud infil panels was utilised to reduce the construction period whilst ensuring that the construction would not affect the motorway or the retaining wall which had to remain accessible throughout.

The built form has added a distinctive landmark building to the main approach to Newcastle city centre.
